This small piece exhibits a perfectly transparent glaze on snow white porcelain bisque. The glaze is formulated to not quite fit the body. Consequently, when the piece cools after firing, the glaze shrinks more than the body and causes crazing in the field. To some, it may look flawed. But to me, it is an added dimension that gives the piece elegance and an aura of antiquity. The ancient Chinese masters would accentuate this effect by staining the crazing with tea.
